Adobe InDesign - Licence verification error

For the last hour or two, I have been unable to access InDesign as well as other Adobe software; every time I try to open InDesign it comes up saying it cannot access the servers to verify the licence (it is an Educational licence that expires in October), and when I click on Try Again is just says there has been an error (referral code 109).

I have tried the Limited Access Repair Tool to reset the host file, but it says it didn’t fix anything (I guess because there was nothing to fix). I have confirmed with a colleague who also uses the suite and they are experiencing the same thing.

I use InDesign 19.0.1, as my PC is not compatible with the newer version; could this be the issue or is there an issue with the servers (I checked the status page and there is nothing showing with issues).

    Hi @RChristie,

Sorry to hear you're running into this issue. Since you mentioned a colleague is experiencing the same behavior, could you please check whether the issue persists when you're connected to a different network, such as a mobile hotspot? If it works there, it's likely that something in your environment is preventing Adobe from reaching the licensing servers. In that case, please have your IT team verify that the required Adobe network endpoints are allowlisted on your firewalls, VPNs, proxies, or other network security appliances: https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/kb/network-endpoints.html

Also, could you confirm whether you're able to sign in successfully at https://account.adobe.com using the same Adobe ID and verify that your subscription details are displayed correctly?

Please let us know what you find, and we'll be happy to investigate further.

    Abhishek

Academic licenses do have some unique requirements. Did you get this directly through Adobe?

Any firewalls in place that changed recently. Were you able to access the app properly with the same network and computer before? Verify if something changed on the network, firewall, computer level. You can connect with Adobe support as well
