Question

Adobe shutting down MacBook pro?

Hi.  I need some help with this one!  I have three Macbook Pros that all use our Adobe programs, primarily indesign and illustrator.  In the last few weeks, on only one of the MBP's, everytime we open indesign or illustrator, the screen blacks out.  The computer itself stays on, but is completely unresponsive.  We thought it might be a bad screen, but hooked into a alternate screen and confirmed the screen was fine.

When the program is openned and this happens, it will occur within just a couple minutes.  We dont even have activity on the program and if just happens with it being open.  This does not happen on either of my other macbook pros, so that adds to the confusion.  No setting were changed at anytime, so just questionable. I did turn off the GPU performance option in indesign the try and solve it, but nothing happened.

Does anyone have any recommendations here or have anything like this happen before?  Any recommendations are greatly appretiated!!

Do you have two licences?

No one license.  When I say we have three MBPs using it, one is booted off while the other two run.

How much RAM and spare hard disk capacity do you have?

Do you have a third-party plugin installed, such as a font manager?

If you can't get the matter resolved it might be worth uninstalling the applications using the Adobe Cleaner Tool and then reinstalling them again.

OS version?

InDesign Version?

How was InDesign installed? Directly from Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop application or from another computer or backup via transfer?

OS version is Catalina.

I don't know exactly which indesign version I was on and i'm worried to open it because it'll take me a hour to come back around.  However, I'm installing the update for version 17.4 right now, so whatever was just before that.

This was downloaded straight from creative cloud, not from a backup.
