Advice on multiple documents all connected to one set of Styles

Hi Folks,

Whilst I would consider myself as quite an advanced user - I wanted to ask this little bit of advice because my knowledge might not be uptodate with the progression in cloud files.

My workflow requirement is thus;

  • Multiple documents to be outputted all as single INDDs
  • Primary document function is the layout of static tables and forms so control of type hierarchy, spacing and consistent separation between elements paramount, and linked and controlled by host of styles
  • A requirement to centrally "store" styles. That is; Paragraph, Character, Object, Table and Cell styles so that each document refers back to styles. Also, any style edits to be replicated in one click across all documents
  • Need to work together as a few designers in team all linking to same style set

Now, I would have done this in the past by creating an Indesign Book file and doing style synchronisation to an extent.

But can anyone advise on tutorials, or articles on how best to approach this in recent times.

Muchos appreciated.

Cliff

Correct answer Steve Werner

I would say the book style synchronization is probably still the best way.

Up and coming in Creative Cloud Libraries to share assets among designers, but it has limitations (synchronizes file updates and not style updates, doesn't support object/table/cell styles yet).
