Hi @adaptable_precision3732,

Thanks for confirming that the frames are not linked to external sources and that this happens in all cases. Could you share your exact OS version? Also, try creating a brand-new document and see if the same issue occurs there. If it does, resetting your InDesign preferences might help, as it can clear any corrupt settings that could be causing this behavior. You can follow the steps here: https://adobe.ly/45zEjgW. If the problem continues, please test in Safe Mode and also in anew local admin user account to see if it makes any difference.

Looking forward to hearing your update.

If I interpret your video correctly, then you switch from the Text tool to the Selection tool, in which case InDesign exits the text editing mode and the frame itself becomes selected. It's the standard and expected behavior.

When you edit a text frame from "Refers to the wiring diagram..." to "Refer to the wiring diagram...", switch to the selection tool, and then select the text frame, the text frame reverts to the unedited state of "Refers to the wiring diagram..." which was the unedited state.

Ok I now understand what the issue you experience is.

What are your InDesign and Windows versions? Does it happen with all text frames or only this one?
