Alegreya Sans won't package with fonts

I have to package InDesign files to send to clients. I know that Adobe-activated fonts won't package, but Alegreya Sans is a Google font, so I'm not sure why it isn't packaging with my other fonts. I thought maybe it was because I had it activated through Adobe—with a different font, I deactivated it through Adobe (using my 3rd-party font manager instead) and then it appeared when I packaged again, but I tried the same thing with Alegreya and it didn't work. Any ideas as to why this might be happening? Thanks!

I won't even guess why it won't package, but since it's a free Google font, why not just copy it into the package folder and be done with it?

That's what I'm doing but I'd rather it get packaged with all my other fonts so I'm not having to remember to copy it over every time I package. It used to package but doesn't anymore.

Let's back up for second here since I just re-read your original post. How exactly did you activate/install this font? Through a font manager? Directly installed in the O/S? What O/S?
