Question

Align items on different pages?

How do I align items (images, text boxes, etc) that are on separate pages? For example, a 2 page brochure. I want the images on both pages the same. In InDesign, I can plot out the X Y Axis. I've tried CTRL+shift+V, because that works in other software to paste in teh exact same spot, but it isn't working.

Express won't let me select two images on separate pages. Am I missing a simple step?

Did you look at the Edit menu? Paste in place is Cntl-Alt-Shift-V.

Note that this works on same page orientation, so if you are using a facing pages document (left/right pages), objects copies from a right-hand page only paste in position on another right-hand page (not on a left page).

You could also use Object Styles:

Another option is to position the empty graphic frame on the parent page and override it on the document pages. (Cntl-shift-click is the override)

But you can still use Paste in Place effectively on facing pages if you susbsequently add or subtract the page width from x-coordinate.

First, this isn't a forum for Express... it's for InDesign. I am not sure how much overlap there is to make answers here meaningful. But for ID in general...

Use guides. On the Parent page if need be, or set numerically on each document page. Or, just set them up numeically in the first place and copy the numbers from one to the other.

I am not sure you can do any kind of alignment across pages, and Paste in Place only works between matching page types (left to left, right to right).

Thanks. I hadn't realized this was on InDesign specific. I thought it was a general adobe community. I'll post in Express.
