Aligning frame to edge of placed spreadsheet

Hi!

Having some trouble with a frame not aliging to the edge of the left hand side of a placed spreadsheet. Want to align the frame of the placed document to the left hand edge of the placed table. Once placed the frame appears to be fixed on the top (which is fine) and a few mm to the left of the left hand side of the table. When i try to align the frame with the side of the table, the table moves and the gap between the frame and the table remains the same.

Thanks!

"The table is not placed where a paragraph setting would affect i don't think."

Every table is part of a paragraph. Every table can be seen as a single character that must be part of a story or a paragraph. So paragraph formatting of any kind can affect the position of that single character that is a table object.

Ok yes I understand. I used basic paragraph style on all cells and seems to have worked. Thank you!

The style applied to the cells in the table has no effect on the placement of the table itself in its containing paragraph.

As Uwe explained above, the table is itself treated as a single character in the containing paragraph, and the formatting applied to that containing paragraph controls the positioning of the table.

Also check the paragraph's alignment where the table is placed.

Could be that the alignment is not left justified.

The table is placed on a empty page. Not sure how to check the paragraph alignment on an empty page or if there is a paragraph setting to check. Thanks for the response!

The table holding the spreadsheet is in a paragraph inside a text frame, so that paragraph has some sort of formatting, or possibly a space (turn on hidden characters). Story editor might be a useful tool to see what the style is.

Check if there no indent in the paragraph where the table is placed.

The table is not placed where a paragraph setting would affect i don't think. I placed the table without formatting so it shouldnt be affected by the formatting in the excel document. Apologies, not sure what you mean otherwise.
