all links go to page one when I make a pdf of indesign book file on Mac

Question

I tried opening my indesign indb file in version 19.1 and all of the links are linking to page 1 and not their correct page. This goes for the hyperlinked tabs on each page as well as the table of contents (TOC was created with the TOC menu in indesign).

I saved all of the book files to idml, reopened them in verison 18.0 and put them into a book file and the links work.

What is the issue with the newer indesign version not holding the links when you crate a pdf?

It was built in 18.0 and changes were made in 19.1 and the links all went back to page 1. I had to save all of the book to idml, open them in 18.0 and relink the hyperlinked tabs and then the file worked. Today I updated to 19.4 and opened the book there and initially only one section was referring back to page one but after re-linking and replacing the file in my book it worked!

Hi @dawnd9Javy2016 ,what was the exact version of InDesign that created the InDesign book file?Version 18.0 ? Then I would create a new InDesign book file with InDesign version 19. And before update to 19.4 or 19.5 (whatever is available right now for you). Regards,Uwe Laubender( Adobe Community Expert )
