Am I able to change the location of InDesign GenAI Assets?

Question

This is the official Adobe documentation:

" Tip:

All variations are downloaded to your computer in the following location:

Windows: C:\Users\<username>\Documents\InDesign GenAI Assets
macOS: /Users/username/Documents/InDesign GenAI Assets "

I want to have this folder on an exernal SSD or Dropbox so if opened at a later date the InDesign file will see the assets in this location and/or give me the option of re-importing them - like the assets in Premiere/After Effects - anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks for reaching out. At the moment, it isn’t possible to change the default location of InDesign GenAI Assets. If this is an important feature for you, I recommend sharing your suggestion on the InDesign UserVoice. Developers and engineers regularly check there for new ideas and feedback, and other users can upvote it to help prioritize. Once you post on UserVoice, please feel free to share the link here so others can support it too!
