Anchored graphic, doubled alt text due to anchoring to neighboring page of spread

I have a 2-page spread, full-page image on left with no text, anchored to first paragraph on right-facing page (which is in the text flow in Articles panel). Any way to keep Acrobat from doubling this image's alt text (once per page)?

The only fix I can think of is to put a dummy paragraph/text flow on the left-facing page and anchor the image to it. An annoying hoop to have to jump through.

PDF export doesn't require anchoring of graphics, at least, not the way EPUB does. Simply place it on the pages/spread you want and don't anchor it to the text. That may solve the problem.

 

But it's occurring because Acrobat has to create the pages separately, using the embedded image and Alt text twice. Unless un-anchoring it as suggested cures the problem, the only solution I can think of is to split the image, placing an actual or cropped half on each page, and include the Alt text on only one.

 

@Bevi_Chagnon___PubCom_com might have some better ideas.

Thanks James. The image is only visible on the left page so no need to split it.

In my experience, not anchoring the graphic leads to its not being recognized at all by Acrobat, so I'm in the habit of anchoring into the text flow anything I want recognized.
