I just opened Adobe Indesign and the Adobe Animation presets are all missing. I am not sure how to fux this issue. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it. It was working great up until now. I am using the lastest version.

Hi Carolyn,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. If you have the latest version of InDesign that is 15.0.1, I would request if you can try resetting the InDesign Preferences by following the steps below:

For Windows

  • Close all Adobe applications.
  • Go to Locations :
  • C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe
  • C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Adobe.
  •  Rename InDesign folders to InDesign.old
  • Launch InDesign from CC.

For MAC

  • Close all adobe applications
  • Go to Locations:
  • ~/Library/Caches
  • ~/Library/Preferences
  • Rename Adobe InDesign and com.adobe.indesign to Adobe InDesign.old and com.adobe.indesign.old
  • Launch InDesign from the CC

Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and InDesign will launch with default settings. This way all your old settings will be saved in .old folders and InDesign will recreate new folders with default settings.

Let us know if you are able to see Presets after that or not and also please share the exact version of InDesign and the Operating System.

Regards

Rishabh

The SWF animations have been removed from InDesign 2020 as it's an obsolete format.

What is the final output format for your document? For example, animations will not work for Interactive PDFs, but can be used in Publish Online and FXL ePubs documents.
