Question

Annoying things in my InDesign (Mac)

I have three things that annoy me on a daily basis.

1. There are constant white flashes - I have tried changing GRU performance.

2. The blue circle that runs at the top and shows the document is saving keeps on running (see attached illustration).

3. When I have to import an image into an InDesign document I can no longer switch between alphabetical order and last modified.

Can anyone help with some of these problems?

Try turning off auto-font activation in preferences to get rid of the blue circle.

You should also be able to click on it to see what is actually saving/loading.

When I click on the turning circle I get this message.

Can you please elaborate on this point… Where exactly can you not switch between the order types?

Also, what are your versions of InDesign and macOS?

    Thanks leo.r

Sorry I wasn’t clear enough. When importing I can’t set it to ‘Date added* It sticks to ‘Name’. Hope it helps.

In your screenshot, the list is sorted by Date Added (as its header is bold). Since there’s no Date Added info available for the files, it doesn’t affect the actual sorting order. Or do I misunderstand your question?

I can sort the navigation dialog by any column when placing images here on macOS Tahoe, InDesign 21.5.
