Hi all,

I have a file that crashes (Mac) v. 20.1 upon start up. The problem started when I was exporting a pdf and it just never finished. I finally had to force quit. Since then, I rebooted, tried updated Indesign (first to 20.5.1 and then to 21) , deleted cashe files, and trashed preferences. No luck. Can anyone take a look? test 2 2.indd

Seems to hang up on link 16, whatever that is, but I doubt that's the actual problem since it's opeing with missing links and should just ignore the link content. Trying a blind export to .idml  and Taks mamager says it's not responding, there's still some memory and disk activity, so I'm just going to leave it sitting for an hour or so and check back later to see if it was successful.

Well, it's been an hour with no progress, so I'm going to suggest the best bet, if you don't have a backup, is to either send the file to Markzware if the cost to rebuild will be high (Bad InDesign or Quark File Recovery Submission Form ) for a fee and maybe they can recover it, or for free to Adobe at idfile@adobe.com with no guarantee that it will get swift attention, if any at all.
