Any way to make a new window launch from a link in InDesign?

Does InDesign javascript recognize the "window" object or have any other functionality that when I click a link in the PDF, a new browser window will open?  Not a new tab in the same browser window session, but a new window, independent of the window I'm viewing the PDF in?

Short answer, no.
How links in pdf function are governed by Acrobat and it's setting.
