Any way to recover an apparently corrupted inddl file?

Question

I used incopy online to share a document for editing of the content. I'm now stuck because although text changes were apparently made by the other party, the linked (in creative cloud) inddl file will not open in InDesign (spinning beachball of death) and opening the link to the file online (incopy online) shows only the first page and non-editable text. Any suggestions how to recover the situation?
