Application of arrowheads deforms stroke...

Just wondering if anyone can reproduce this or offer comment.

A uniformly curved path (a piece of an ellipse, actually):

Apply an arrowhead:

...and the stroke deviates from the path.

x2:

Unsightly.

If you click on the Align: Extend arrow tip beyond path, it smooths out the bumps. (Mac)

    Hi,

Thanks for pointing that out. In order to avoid that can you please try the below steps:

    1. Create a curved path from ellipse and superimpose it on the ellipse with which it was generated. Using paste in place and then converting the upper one to a curved path. Add the arrow heads as needed. Something like this...

    2. Add anchor point along the curved path...

As and when you do it, your curved path will keep correcting itself and begin to overlap the below ellipse. Add anchor point wherever you see the curved path being deviated from the actual path.

You can also now change the alignment for your stroke without worrying about the curved path deviating.

I do agree this is an approximate workaround and will shift your arrowheads forward. Could not think of anything else.

Ah, thank you Aman. Yes, only a workaround, but I'm glad there is at least a way to restore the integrity of the curve.

Stepping through the offering of built-in arrowhead styles varies the effect some, with only Circle and CircleSolid leaving the stroke contour un-corrupted.

This is the 2017.1 release running in Windows 7.
