Applying italic on all text after a word that has italic on Word

Hi, everybody
I'm having this problem when I'm importing a Word document (.docx) to InDesing that appplies the italic on the rest of the paragraph after a word that is formatted to italic. The document has paragraph styles applied, but there is not a character style set for italic, it's using the italic button to set the format.
