Arranging objects – shortcut on German keyboard?

Hi there,

my favourite InDesign shortcuts are the ones to arrange objects, bring them forward or send them backwards. The shortcut I learned works fine on an English keyboard, but not on a German one. So I have been switching the keyboard language around from German to English, whenever I am working in InDesign. However, most of the text I am currently working with is in German (including German letters ÄÖÜ...), so this is not a very practical solution. I am working on a German Mac. Does anyone know the "German Shortcuts" to arrange objects? I cannot seem to find them anywhere.

Thanks!

    Hi,

on a Mac Strg in a KBSC of a Windows version means cmd.

And yes, I think you have to set your InDesign language to German to use the German KBSCs.

I'm a bit late answering this, but had the exact same issue as you and FOUND A SOLUTION!

If you go to Edit -> Keyboard Shortcuts you can modify all the shortcuts.

I changed my move forward and back to CMD+Shift+Ö  without having to change the language. Hope this helps!

    Thank you, Fenja.
But for some reason that does not work for me. Does it work for other MacUsers, Ctrl+Ä and Ctrl+Ö?

(I am beginning to wonder if I have to set my InDesign language to German to use the German keyboard shortcuts?)
