Artificial Ignorance. Automatic running head????

Why on earth would Indesign automatically insert a running head on the first page of a chapter that has been placed in a book at the same time all files in the project are placed in a book? Been a user for several decades and have never had a file get a running head automatically inserted on the first page of a chapter simply by putting all my files in a book. As you can see, I already had shifted the running head to the bottom of the page with only the folio. But once I placed the files in the book, Indesign decides to place a running head at the top. (before placing the files in the book, all files were all recto start, regardless of whether they would remain recto start, or be verso start once placed in the book, AS I HAVE DONE FOR DECADES), Has so called "AI" or as I call it "artificial ignorance" decided that a shifted page needs a new running head inserted? In all my decades of using Indesign, files placed in a book are done so without alteration of their first page compositon. WTF? Humanity will suffer from AI not because its intelligent, but because its incompetent. Any insight is appreciated. Obviously its a simple matter to delete the running head, but just wondering if this is the new normal of working with Artificial Ignorance software?

It would sync the parent pages so if you're parent pages have running heads so do the synced pages.

you'd have to have  a separate parent page for pages with no running heads instead of overriding parent page items to remove them.

I could be getting feeble-minded, but I don't recall indesign putting a RH onto a page that I have manually altered the existing running head. I totally understand unaltered RHs being updated, but not the first page of a chapter that has its RH edited.

Did you sync the parent pages? It's a long time since I used the book feature. But I recall specifically having separate parent pages for non-running head pages to avoid this issue.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
