Automated placement of objects

Hi All,

I am VERY new to ID and have created a document template that has to have variable placement of pdf objects.  Is it possible to create a csv that has the X/Y coordinates of where each object should be placed along with the directory location of the object to automatically place each in the correct location on the blank "template".  This is a very repetitive task and no 2 documents are the same in terms of placement of the objects.

thanks

As to your inquiry: Yes, you can set up an Excel spreadsheet and
export as cvs.
A script can read the cvs file and using the information place the
files. I have done several scripts for others that use this workflow.

InDesign does not have native features that will do what you describe.

It is possible via scripting but the learning curve is steep.
