Avoid additional multilevel numbering being added to the text styles within the table of contents

Within my custom InDesign table of contents, I have selected entry styles for subheadings, based on previously created text styles.

However, additional multilevel numbering is being added to the text styles within the table of contents. How can I remove or avoid this?

You have to create separate Paragraph Styles for the table of content.

I use to create Paragraph styles toc1, toc3, etc. for the table of content, without any numbering. You never should use the same Paragraph Style for the table of content as you use for the headlines.
