Question

Background work space in normal mode - can't get it to look the way I need it

I have two files open.  One is exactly the look I want on the background workspace when in NORMAL mode.  It is white, with small light grey grids.  However in the other file, I can't get it to look that way, it always defaults to the same colour as PREVIEW mode.

Each file has the exact same Grids, Guides and Pasteboards settings which I just checked.

Is there somewhere else to change something?

thanks

To see those grey gridlines on any document, you have to select in InDesign the command:
View> Grids and Guides> Show Document Grid

Not usre to understand what is different, the background in Normal Mode?

Would a capture of both (zoomed in, superimposed) would show the details?

See attached four files. Both PREVIEW modes are OK (slight colour differences intentional). The NORMAL modes are different. I want the one that is white with the small grey grid outlines - but I can only get plain white on the other one. Well it is not letting me attached, I'll try to edit the original post.

Preferences>Interface>Match Pasteboard to Theme Color ?

Perhaps that was a guess. No, I've been there done that. As I said in the post, all the Grids, Guides and Pasteboards are the same in both files already! All matching does is change the colour to the theme. So not the answer sorry.
