Bad preview of placed vector file paths - jagged

This is not the end of the world, but I am getting this terrible preview issue of placed vector logos into my document. I am in High Quality Display Mode. Happens with vector logos I am placing (EPS, SVG).

Working on marketing materials with sponsor logos, so I am using logos from other companies.

I opened one of the EPS and re-saved it as both EPS and AI but didn't fix it. I don't see it in all the logos but see it in a bunch of them.

Mostly a pain in the butt since I know they will print correctly.

Did you check the Outline View of the EPS files in Illustrator? Maybe there is a problem in the logo files which only shows in preview.

Yep, files are fine, clean and smooth. It's happening on AI files as well.

Restarted Mac, ran diagnostics etc. I can live with it, it's just extra annoying.

BTW, didn't realize EPS was outdated. Feel like I remember when it came out, LOL. Will stop using.

Can you share the problem eps? You can attach it to a reply.

Avoid EPS as itis an outdated file type.
Avoid SVG for print or pdf. Use it for web applications and epubs.

use PDF/X-4 or AI files in InDesign for vectors.

Will try; some vendors specifically ask for EPS. Good tip on SVG. This issue is happening with AI files as well.

Hi @Juan Cano , Does it happen if you save the EPSs and SVGs as .AI format? EPS and SVG both have limited color mangement and live transparency capabilities, so for print .AI is a better format.

Never had issues with EPS, that's a native format and not doing any transparency, but thanks for the tip. But I did save one as AI as curiosity. Here's the weird part which makes me think is a GPU issue like John Messinger said. In the screenshot attached, I resaved the logo as an .AI. I replaced it ON THE LEFT and suddenly the logo on the RIGHT was smooth. Figured I did it wrong. But I didn't. The one on the RIGHT was still the EPS but now it was smooth. And the one on the LEFT is the .AI and it's choppy. Just a silly issue. Will restart Mac and go from there. Thanks.

Does it happen if you only place .AI format?

That looks more like a GPU hiccup than a low quality preview. If you're on a Mac, toggle GPU acceleration on or off.

Tried the toggle and didn't make a difference. Hmmm.
