Baseline grid working fine but invisible

have they made baseline grids invisible? Mine is working fine at aligning the text to the grid - I just can't see it - not that it matters since it works anyway. Why do we need to see it? Or ought I to be seeing it but doing something wrong.

I just realised I had the preview on so of course it would not show!

Thanks, Lorraine, for posting again—now others who search will find the three reasons their baseline grid may not show:

The view for the baseline grid must be turned on
The zoom level must be checked
Preview mode will hide the grid

Sorry Steve and Jane, I did solve it myself by discovering the stupidest of errors I was making. See the last sentence of my post above. It's almost too obvious for anyone else to be expected to think of it.
Reminds me of that person whose text would not show up when he typed because his text was coloured white.
To say it again, I was trying to set up the baseline grid while in preview mode. It all worked beautifully as expected but grids (and guides) are never going to show if you are in preview!

You can set a default Zoom level for seeing the baseline grid in Preferences. The default is a 75% zoom, meaning you won't see it at a 74% zoom or lower. Be sure Show Baseline Grid is enabled, then either:
