Batch updating links from different folders

I have hundreds of photos (originally from Lightroom) in an indesign project.  They reside in 1 parent folder but many subfolders.  Is there a way to batch update all the links at once?  Right now, it won't let me - asking me to update 1 picture at a time.  Am I missing something?

I am using the metadata attached to each photo from Lightroom to generate captions in ID.  Currently, ID can't read the field I want it to, but it magically can as soon as I relink the photo.  So I need a fast way to relink all the photos which reside in different folders.

Select all the links in the links panel and then use the links panel option menu command “Relink to folder”. You will need to repeat for each subfolder.

Easiest way might be to use Bridge to select them all and move them to a single folder and then relink to that, but I will ask…how did these images get unlinked? Did you move them all after placing in InDesign?
