Question

Betreff: Table Preferences

I have tried using table styles.  It affects ONLY the cell my cursor is in.  Also, when I specify no header/footer rows, it decreases the number of rows in the table.  Do I have to specify more than I want?  How to I indicate I'm setting styles for the entire table?

Thanks,

Gail

    Hi Elizabeth,

Can you check to see if you are applying a Table style or a Cell style? A Table style affects the table; a Cell style affects selected cells. Also, remove overrides in both if they are there. Please show a screen shot if there is still an issue.

I'd like to specify styles for both table & cell. I want 9 point Arial,
center justified for the entire table. I have 11 rows & 3 columns, and
apparently I have to change the default Minion Pro Regular 12 point cell by
cell. I have trouble believing an Adobe product could be so clunky! I am
new to InDesign. I've gone through the tutorials which covered the basics,
but I'm trying to get some projects done & getting extremely frustrated.

I'm including 2 screen shots. One with cursor in a cell I have changed,
one in a cell I have not changed. Neither Table styles nor cell styles
allows change of type style, apparently.

I am a CC subscriber and use Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Bridge, & Acrobat Pro
regularly. I'm totally stymied by InDesign.

    Thanks for your help,
    Gail
