Blue brackets onscreen in endnotes

When importing endnotes from Word, Indesign places L-shaped blue brackets at beginning and end of each endnote. Is there any way to hide these brackets on screen? They are not hidden by using Type > Hide Hidden Characters, or View > Structure > Hide Tag Markers. Nor does any option for hiding appear under Type > Document Endnote Options. These blue brackets are really distracting when considering layouts on screen (Yes, I know they do not print). Thanks for any advice.

Hi @DonQPublic:

 

No, they indicate the boundaries of the endnotes. If you manage to remove them, you wil also remove the endnote marker in your main text.
