Book file panel invisible

Hi - Often when I close all open InDesign docs, the book panel disappears. If I quit InDesign, a prompt asks me if I want to save the book file, meaning it's open, but just invisible. The only way I can get it to show again is to restart InDesign. Is this a bug? InDesign CC 2017, 12.0.0.81 build, on Mac OS Sierra 10.12.4. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Correct answer Steve Werner

If the book file is open but just hiding, you can always find it listed in the Window menu (shown below):

If you accidentally closed it, it will be found wherever you saved the file. Likely, it will show up in the File > Open Recent list.

I addressed a similar question in this post, perhaps it will help with your question:

Where is my book file when my documents are closed

Thanks Barbara, glad to see it's not just me who's had this issue.
