We have a wordfile containing 1354 footnotes and importing this file in Indesign CC 2015 doesn't show any. Is there a limitation of footnotes in Indesign?

Please do not hijack other conversations. I've branched your question to a new topic. Without more details on what you're doing it's impossible to answer fully but you must show options and make the appropriate choices when place Word files.

My excuses. Well the proper choices are made when importing the file. And the other chapters of the book do have many footnotes as well, but this one seems to have too many. That's why I supposed there is a limit to the number of footnotes, when importing a file into Indesign?

I'm not aware of a specific limit—and like your file, my docs are footnote-intensive—but that doesn't mean there isn't one. If this were my doc, I'd try breaking the Word doc into smaller segments. Try bringing in the first half—does it work? Can you then import the second half at the end of that file? If not, perhaps import the second half and then see if you can paste it at the end of that file. Save early and save often.
