I just started learning In Design. I have watched youtube videos trying to lears, as I need this skill for my job. I have noticed that I very often do not have the same tools as they do in these videos. I do not have a pintbrush etc. and often times there scroll down menues are comepletly different so I ned up dicking around for way to long trying to learn an alternate route to complete the simple task. Is there some uograded version I need or something? I would like to have a complete toolbar and be able to actually follow along on the tutotials. For reference, the logo for my id is red and pink with the letters "id". When i even goolgle this I get alternate programs. I am completely new and really need some help here figuring out how to use this program.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. You may select the Essential Classic workspace layout for yourself. Please find more information about it on this help article. Additionally, you may explore the tutorials and support articles on Adobe InDesign product support page. Hope it helps.

Regards,

Ashutosh

You wouldn't use Indesign to change logo colours. You need to know that pro designers are constantly using all three of the Adobe design apps: InDesign (to assemble pages with text), Illustrator (to edit vector graphics) and Photoshop (to edit photos). This is not a fault, they are designed to be used as a set.
Each of them has big, steep learning curves.

Rather than random videos, which may be for different versions, and may be made by people who don't really have experience, I suggest your company pays for  professional training. A lot of time and money will be saved.

Also, please let us know which version of InDesign do you have installed and your operating system.

InDesign does not have a paintbrush tool.

It's likely you're watching tutorial videos for Adobe illustrator.

Would you like to explain what you are trying to learn in InDesign - perhaps we can help.
