Can InDesign quickly delete an entire word like code editing software?

Tried BackSpce, doesn't seem to work.
Or is there another way?

You're looking for ctrl+backspace, which is the default Text shortcut to delete the preceding word. If you're in a table, ctrl+backspace is I think Delete Row, at least by default.

And, as always, it can be scripted 😉 you can assign a keyboard shortcut to a script that will select word on the left or right and delete it.
