Can Linked Assets Be Stored and Shared in Adobe Cloud for InDesign Cloud Documents?

Hello all,

We are an Architectural firm where we are working towards moving to cloud storage (away from traditional servers across network).  We are primarily moving towards Autodesk Construction Cloud, however we recently found INDD files are not supported and recently seem to be having issues.

It appears that the Adobe Cloud may be a great solution for storing, and working with InDesign files, as it appears this also allows for co-authoring, which would be terrific (assuming it works like Microsoft co-authoring).

What I am unsure about and would like some clarification on is if/how InDesign linked assets can be stored and shared in the Adobe Cloud.  I don’t see anything about this in the help documentation and after going through, it sounds like links need to be local or on a server.

Any clarification on this is appreciated, thank you.

    Hi @zride91CPL,

Adding to the expert’s suggestion, this FAQ on InDesign Cloud Documents might help clarify how cloud documents work and the current limitations around linked assets:

Please take a look and let us know if this helps with your workflow or if you have any further questions. Happy to assist further.

By “Adobe Cloud” I assume you’re referring to saving InDesign files as ‘cloud documents’. This is not a robust cloud solution at this point and you won’t be able to link assets stored on Adobe Creative Cloud.

Your best options for cloud storage services are Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive.
