thx for the input. I did not know that there was a list from Adobe of compatible apps. Also because  I'm a Apple newbie  I hoped that they don't make the same mistakes like Microsoft and only start to upgrade if the software is fully testet and that my problem can maybe be solved by changing some app settings... but seems like I was wrong 😞

Ain't no thang. FWIW, you're just one of several folks posting here that have found rude surprises immediately after upgrading to MacOS 14. So you're not suffering alone.

But whether you're running on Windows or MacOS, it really pays off to hold back on immediately upgrading your operating system and important apps. If you've got a system that's already running well, there's no need to take a sharp, uncontrolled ride down the bleeding edge of technology to see what new stuff can do.

Hold back a week or two to let others lead the way and discover by error, then trial, what needs to be done for everything to run smoothly. Or if you're fortunate enough to have a spare system, load the new stuff on the extra computer and protect your ability to work smoothly on your regular system until everything's proven to be copacetic.

And don't be surprised if you find out it may take a bit before all your programs become fully compatible with a new OS. A little hesitance pays off handsomely when it comes to installing system upgrades.

I would normally wait, however, where I work they imposed an automatic forced University-wide update that I have no control over. Now I can't do my work - can't place any graphics in either InDesign or Illustrator, which is required for like 95% of my projects! I have deadlines and projects to get done! Things were just fine until this "upgrade." Grrrr.

I hate to say it, but maybe because you updated your OS before Adobe is providing software entirely compatible with it?

Check out this link about MacOS 14 and compatibility with Adobe apps.
