Can't Change Tools After 20.1 Update on Mac

I booted up indesign today (2025.01.22) to work on a file and found that I could no longer change the rectangle tool to the circle tool. In fact, none of the tools with the little lower-right hand tool palette designation are expanding when I click-hold or right click.

Is this something wrong with the update, or have I switched some option that I was unaware exsists and can toggle it again?
