Question

Can't jump from column to column

Hello,

I am brand new to InDesign. I am learning a few things about it. Particularly how to create my own digital portfolio.

I created three columns to represent what the person is going to click on. I did enter the first one, but when I press enter (I am on my laptop), it didn't go to the second one.

I looked around and found another one mentioned Ctrl + Enter, and that didn't work. Neither does Fn + Enter. How do I fix this?

Hello! Welcome to the world of InDesign! Creating a digital portfolio is a fantastic project, to begin with. It sounds like you're working with multiple columns and encountering issues when navigating through them. Please try the suggestions shared below:

  • Make sure you have the Type tool selected.
  • Click inside the text frame of the first column.
  • Press the Tab key on your keyboard to move to the next column.
  • If the Tab key doesn't work, try using the arrow keys on your keyboard to move to the next column.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks

Hello,

I tried your suggestions and they don't work. Not even the Tab key or the
Arrows work in jumping from one column to another. Although, I did try
Shift + Tab, but that got me to the right side of the next column and not
the right one.

What do I do now?
