Can't open a new doc in InDesign

Help! I can't create a new doc anymore, the window doesn't appear, I reinstalled the software but to no avail

With the excellent advice from @BobLevine and @Steve Werner 

I would like to add:

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the
Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

Sounds like the dialog could be off the screen. Have you reset your preferences? Reinstalling does not do that.

 

What version of InDesign? What operating system?
