When I create a new file and then try to save it, I get an error message to the effect that this file can't be saved to a new name.

Hi RSCoby: Did the Catalina update make a difference, or are you having the same problem? Do you have permission to save to that drive/folder?

I just tried saving to iCloud, and it let me do that. I then looked at my hard drive (Macintosh HD), and it says I can only read. I tried to change the permissions list, but it won't let me. I thought I knew how to reset permissions, but apparently not.
