I can't save or undo in inDesign 2021

This happens often at the moment and I have to force quit.

This seems to be some issue with indesign and Wacom.

Turn off the touch function on your Wacom tablet when using indesign an the problem should stop.

Also having this problem.

InDesign 2021 (latest updates)
No Wacom (Logitech mouse)
Windows 10.0.19042
Save, Save As, Check In, Save a Copy, Revert, Undo, Redo, Cut, Copy, Paste (all flavors), all greyed out and unavailable
Having to explain to Powers That Be why InDesign is still better than Word is getting more difficult with these bugs, and I swear to God I will never forgive y'all if I end up having to do all my design in Word.

Update:

Issue appears when attempting to place (Ctrl+D), drag-and-drop into a frame, drag into a file (outside a frame) or re-link an Illustrator file into the document (not attempted with other formats)
Issue can be sort-of resolved by exporting to PNG (perhaps other formats), and importing that instead.
Upon a successful import of a graphic into the document, I can once again place Illustrator files.
Until it screws up again, inevitably and eventually.

I've been running into this issue recently.
Until Adobe decides to actually FIX the issue, something I tried that seems to work is to export the unsaveable file as an IMDL file. From what I can tell, I didn't lose anything when I opened it. My save feature also returned. I've only tried this once so far so no guarantees of consistency yet.

Problem "went away" on its own. Now it's 5:19 PM and I'm feverishly working to get my corrections in on a doc that is late being sent to the printer. Just finished going through the entire book, replacing decimals with fractions, only to find I couldn't undo after I created a character style I didn't need. Uh oh. Yep. Can't save. The joy of starting fresh.

UPDATE: Looks like some of my Command+S presses must have worked. Now I just have to figured out what didn't get changed on the last go.

I've just started experiencing this problem today.

I am not using a tablet.

I have a track pad on my laptop.

I am using Apple Mouse.

This issue could not have happened at a worse time. I am right at the deadline to complete a project. I am putting in the final corrections and edits. Now I cannot save or undo. What's worse, I thought I had been saving for the past hour or so using Command+S. I didn't realize I wasn't saving until I made a mistake and couldn't undo.

OS Big Sur 11.2.3 / ID 16.1 – I am facing the same problems for months now ... after some time working with an Indesign document there is no more UNDO possibility and no more SAVE or SAVE AS... after working with previous ID-versions before I hoped it will be fixed with ID 16.1 but still the same problem ... even more problems appear with no possibility to even start ID because no access to preferences. Even after 3 hours chat with an Adobe specialist nothing could be done because it was impossible to install Indesign again after uninstalling ... the only way was to set up all new from a few days older Backup Version ... waste of time, plenty of extra work and still no solution available ...

I have the same problem, cant save or save as. If it does do it it takes an absolute age. Can I reload InDesign 2020 as I have been like this for nearly 2 days now. So frustrating

Same problem occured to me... I have no tablet connected and it just suddently happened. Indesign 2021 Ver. 16.0 Mac 10.14.3

I have a one by wacom tablet but havent used it in months. This problem has only just occured this week. How can i turn off the touch function on my wacom tablet when it isnt even connected to my laptop?
