Can't use anything but the text tool, greyed out tools

Hello, I am on the free trial version of InDesign, and worked fine with it for the first day. But now, it won't let me do anything but use the text tool. Every other tool is greyed out and I can't select anything, I don't know why this is happening, it worked just fine before, I kept working on the same document and now suddenly I can't do anything but type.. Do you guys think it has something to do with the free trial? Does Adobe not want me to buy their software xD??

thank you all for your replies: after searching for an answer and even BUYING the damn program, it still didn't work... I then thought about uninstalling it and then re-installing... and yes.. it worked. so yes, im sorry, all that trouble for nothing!

    The Trial only lasts for seven days, how long have you been using it?

    You Place images in InDesign documents: (File > Place).
