Question

Cannot edit an item in the cc library of InDesign.

Adding an item to the cc library is not a problem.
The first time I want to modify the item by double clicking is also no problem. When saving I don't get any error either.
But then I can no longer place this item in an InDesign document.
I don't get an error message anywhere either. So the item in the library has become unusable.

What is the problem here?
I am working on a Mac Studio, M2 Ultra, 128GB, Sonoma 14.3.1 and InDesign 19.3

Hey hi, This could be due to a compatibility issue or a glitch in the software. Try updating InDesign and see any update is pending on your system that could help you and please go through the documentation.

I am working with the latest version of InDesign 19.3.
I have a suspicion that the problem has something to do with the problems with the server here.
For connection to the server, we work with Acronis Files Connect software. This takes care of the connection Mac and Windows Server.
We have been experiencing major problems since Sonoma and the new Mac.
I am too uninformed to know if this could be the cause of the problems with CC Library.

Are all your files stored on your server?

You couild make a test of using files stored on your local drive, and see if it works there. If it works there, your server may not be compatible with the Adobe software for some reason. Up to your IT department to figure that out.

What exactly are you adding from InDesign to CC Libraries. Exactly what steps are you taking to do this?

Does this happen with just one InDesign file or with other files you try?

The problem arises with any element. Whether text, frames, illustrations, etc.
I grab the element and drag it into the library.
So far there is no problem.
Double clicking on it opens the element in InDesign and I can modify it.
Click save, and the element is modified in the library.
From this point on, I cannot use the element.
It is not possible to drag it from the library onto a document.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
