CC 2017 Multicolumn span footnotes

I was amazed by the new update of the span footnotes but... Is it possible to have two columns of text and 2 or 3 columns of span footnotes underneath it? I've tried to set columns in the paragraph style of the footnotes, but nothing happened. Or is there any other way how to make footnotes organized in equally long columns? Thank you

It's possible, but not with an onboard means of InDesign. Peter Kahrel has a brilliant trick (script) for that: http://www.kahrel.plus.com/indesign/footnotes_columns.html

But you can put in a feature request here:

Wishform - Adobe InDesign

I learned this week at MAX that foonotes are a very hot topic for InDesign right now, including adding support for table footnotes—so this is a good time to add your footnotes wishes.

No, it is not possible.
