Cell style ignored when creating a new table

I have created a Table Style which includes all the relevant Cell styles for Header and Body and Paragraph styles for each.

When I create a new table the cell styles are completely ignored and the cell style is [none]+

any help here would be great, I just want to create a table that uses my styles, thank you

Correct answer Willi Adelberger

After creating the table style, seect all cells, click on none cell styles and apply the table style by holding the option key.

during the creation cells remember previous states. That must be removed.

I have found very little use for table styles. The fact you cannot control for column widths or assign cell styles by column is very limiting.

I have found that for most formatting where I might use tables I am better off using paragraph styles and some combination of tabs, paragraph rules, paragraph shading, and underlines.

Can you provide a screen capture of the table? It might be you are better off without tables.

IMHO, table styles are very useful. Could they be better, of course--what couldn't? When used properly, they can streamline work, especially when linking to Excel files.

I believe Woodwing Smart Styles can include column widths.

Can you take a screen shot of the General section of the Table Style and Character Style dialog boxes?

I don't see anything that should cause a problem. I didn't see the Cell Styles general tab, but presumedly it is fine.

Try @Willi Adelberger 's suggestion. If that doesn't work, upload a sample file (that is having the problem).
