Challenge: Indesign with continuous running tables

I work on books with LENGTHY tables, columns running from one page to another, sometimes one column can run 3 pages (see example). Typically the table will break at the beginning or end of a cell leaving partially blank pages, we need to find a way for it to be continuous column from one page to another. For now we have to copy and paste from one page to another, a copy change could result in a rework. It's very time consuming and a little nervous it leaves us open to errors. Any suggestions on a script or work around?

Hi Norma,

hm. InDesign does not provide the feature. It's one of the most asked after features at InDesign UserVoice:

https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601021-adobe-indesign-feature-requests/suggestions/33854788-option-to-split-table-rows-across-pages

But I think, it will not happen in the foreseeable future…

What's left? Do not use InDesign's table functionality.

Use individual rotated text frames for every column.

Why not totally redesign it? The example layout could be ... better.

Not an option but thanks.
