Changing a font always reset to the first font. Annoying.

Is there a way to set the Character panel to show the last font used when I want to change a font on a text box? It used to be that way, now every time I want to change a font, the font list window resets to the first font of the list. I have to constantly scroll back to the font name, particularly when I just want to change it to another font within the same family.

Thanks..

Hi,

It does show at the top... the top section of the fonts drop down contains the recently used font. Probably you have set the ”Number of recent fonts to display” that are displayed to 0.

-EDIT
-PREFERENCES (Ctrl+k in WIN)
- TEXT tab
- uncheck "Enable preview font ...."
- next row 0 (i mean number zero - not 10) - this is because it stays on font, but it will be above in last fonts and not between all fonts.

I don't get about Character panel. If you have nothing selected Character panel shows default font. With nothing selected you can easily set another font as default. When you select some text, Char panel immediately shows what font is already applied to that selected text. Quite logical, isn't it? And it always was that way.

Thats not what I mean. For example, I have a text set as helvetica. And I want to change it to helvetica lt std. If I open the character list, it starts at the beginning were A fonts start. Before it would open with the list starting where helvetica sits at. But now I have to scroll back down to the H fonts. Its more work. Sure, once I select a new font it gets displayed under recent fonts.

I am not looking to go back to a recently used font. I just want that list to show the font I last used so I can preview the the font families next to it. It's how it used to be before CC.
