Question

Changing FN separator

Hi, Dear Friends!

The default separator is a line between the text above and the FN below.

Is there a way I can change this by adding text, etc, (like making the separator " - - NOTES --" ) and can I add a graphic?

Not too much to ask for 🙂

Thank you, and have a good day!

I have started a script here that is adding --Notes-- to the footnotes but hitting some snags.

What graphic do you want to be placed with it?

It's very basic, it adds a text frame on a new layer and places the text frame over the footnote location.

But it's putting 2 on the first page and I can't get it to go through the pages and put 1 down per page.

And I've hit an error now that I can't fix.

Give us some more details and see what can be done.

Have you an example of what you want it to look like?

You can change to a different stroke, no graphic, except those strokes which have got names like Feer, Woof, Rainbow, Lights, etc.).

Thank you for your attention!

I know someone who has an add-on for money who can do this.

It is in Hebrew, but you can get the idea

So why can't we do it for free?

@SuzzyFlamingo

It's not a "native" solution - it's just a script that duplicates your sample object above Footnotes.

But I'm pretty sure you'll have to run it again - if your text - and Footnotes - reflow.
