Question

Checkbox in Epub doesn't work

I have created an EPUB with working buttons to, for example, got to a specific time stamp in vidieo or set a multi state object.

BUT it seems like the predefined checkboxes in "sample buttons and forms" don't work when published in EPUB. The checkbox works as a charm though if I export in PDF, but none of the other functions don't work (which is expected).

Is this a bug or have I missed something.

Thanks in advance!

For testing purposes it might be worth trying the document as an InDesign Publish Online publication to see if the issue occurs in this also.

Thanks for the response. "Publish online.." didn't do the trick. The checkbox, as in exported Epub, remains empty and nothing happens when you click it.

There is no single "ePub" viewer -- just as there doesn't seem to be any base standard. Some viewers may support checkboxes, others may not. The original iBooks on the iPad supported many HTML Forms functions (at least on screen -- of course "post" and "submit" did not do anything) but that got removed for unknown reasons.

That seems you are also expecting (full? partial?) Javascript support. Again, sure, some viewers may support this, but it sure sounds like a lot to ask from what was designed to be a basic formatted document view format. Perhaps you should not try to wrestle the ePub specs into submission for your very specialized purposes but choose a more appropriate format.
