Question

Clients can't download my published document

Like some other posts I have seen, my clients can't download the magazine I prepare each month. There is no problem with the viewing - just not the downloading! I have, of course, clicked the allow downloads check box! I have also tried packaging the magazine document to see if that throws up any issues. The only one is that some of the photos are RGB and others CMYK is this a possible reason? There doesn't appear to be any problem with the file name (which I have seen as a problem for some others with this type of issue). Help please! https://indd.adobe.com/view/6d4d4d73-4f35-45a9-8809-abaf1c906fac

Hi @alexandrab38055675,

Thank you for sharing the link and details. I can see how inconvenient it must be for your clients to view the magazine but not be able to download it even with the download option enabled. Since republishing didn't help, please confirm your exact InDesign version and whether you're on macOS or Windows.

Try signing out of the Creative Cloud desktop app, restarting your system, and then signing back in before republishing. Also, test by creating a Publish Online link with a different document to check if the issue is specific to this file.

Please try these steps and let me know how it goes so we can assist you further.

Abhishek

Hi Alexandra,

You are right. You click the download and it complains that it doesn't see the PDF.

I would suggest scrubbing it down (deleting the Publish Online) and begin again to upload it to Publish Online and make sure the checkmark is ticked (under the Advanced tab). Let us know it it continues to happen?

I have tried that twice now - no difference!
