Color Picker Not Working Despite Double Clicking in InDesign

Question

Hey, Ive recently been learning Indesign and there is load of useful stuff online answering every question apart from this one! To acsess the color picker i understand you have to click twice on either the stroke or fill icon, however when i double click this does not happen! I have tried looking everywhere for this and restarted my indesign but nothing seems to work. Please can anyone help! Thank you!

Thank you for reaching out! I understand how frustrating it must be when something as simple as accessing the color picker isn't working as expected, especially when you're in the middle of learning InDesign.

Could you please share which version of InDesign you're using and the operating system you're working on? This will help us better understand the issue.

In the meantime, make sure that you're selecting either the Fill or Stroke icon by clicking on it once before double-clicking to access the color picker. If the issue persists, it might be related to your preferences, so resetting your InDesign preferences might also help resolve the problem. Reference: Set preferences in Adobe InDesign

Additionally, it would be really helpful if you could share a screen recording of the entire workflow when the issue occurs. This will allow us to see exactly what’s happening and provide a more precise solution.
