Colors Dulled Down But I can't change Proof Set Up

Hi Everyone!

So i'm working on indesign 16.4 and I've noticed that all my colors have been dumbed down. Although i can change my transparency blend space to and from CMYK and RGB (which resolves the color issue for inserted images), I am unable to change my proof setup as it is all greyed out. So everytime I choose a bright color for a shape or type, indesign with immidietly alter it to a duller color. Can anyone help?! im on a deadline too 😞

thanks so much

Make sure your Color Settings are not set to Emulate InDesign 2.0 CMS Off, that would disable Proof Colors and Proof Setup.

CMYK has a much more limited color range than RGB, with a few exceptions. The color shift you are seeing is natural.

Is your document meant to be printed or viewed strictly online? That would determine your blend space.

What are your color settings under Edit>Color Settings set to for RGB and CMYK?

Proof Setup (View menu) is usually for viewing the document from a different setting that the document or working CMYK. Is the Proof Colors menu just below selectable? It is used to activate the preview.
