Conditional Text in Book Files

Question

Hello,I inherited a book file that uses conditional text. I can't determine how to define what conditional text is visible when I save out a pdf.I really don't want to have to open every single indd file to check the conditional text. Surly there must be a way to say use XX conditional text across the board...Thanks for your help!

Barb,It is an .indb file with linked .indd files (one per spread). So will I need to follow your screenshot above for each .indd file in the .indb or can I select all and make the update at once?Thank You,LisaHi Lisa:Yes that is correct. But be careful what you have checked (and not checked) because whatever is checked is going to be synced across all of the files.This is a great feature when you want to standardize the look of all of the chapters in the book window. To play it safe, I would only check the conditional text option until you understand the ramifications and/or work on a copy of the files. ~Barb

Hi Lisa:You can use Synchronize Options in the Book panel menu to sync conditional text settings (and many other things) from one chapter to the other chapters in the book.~Barb
